Number the Stars (Chapters 1-4)
How does the encounter with the Nazi soldiers on the way home from school affect Annemarie? How would it make you feel to be in a similar situation? Is it hard to even imagine?
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers on the way home from school affects Annemarie because she feels afraid of them. The Nazi soldiers have been controlling Copenhagen, and Annemarie is afraid just like many people in Copenhagen. I would feel scared just like Annemarie if I was in such a situation, but it's pretty hard to imagine what that would even be like or when it would even happen.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers affected Annemarie because she becomes both terrified and frustrated because of the way she looks at them. She describes them as cold and she is insulted due to the fact that the Nazi soldiers still don't understand their language. However, she is able to stand her ground and talk to the soldiers without showing signs of fear. This is bravery! If I was in a similar situation, I would have honestly been terrified. Just the thought of two soldiers that can possibly hurt or make me uncomfortable makes me shiver. I actually can't imagine a situation like this. I just don't think that it is likely that you are stopped by two soldiers and have an encounter like this!
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers on the way home from school frightens Annemarie. She feels worried and realizes how truly dangerous the Nazis are. I would be afraid if I were in a similar situation, but I would most likely stay calm and and quickly answer their questions so I can run far away--and stay far away--and try to avoid them as long as I can. However, it is extremely difficult to imagine myself in this situation.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers on the way from school scares Annemarie because the soldiers started yelling and asking questions which one of the soldiers also intimidated the girls. If I was in the same situation, I would try to answer all their questions as calmly as possible. Then, I would walk, not run, home. Plus, I'll try to make myself forget it happened.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers on the way home from school affect Annemarie because they make her feel uncomfortable with them always watching by poking her with his gun and making angry faces. They also ask many questions about their personal business. It would make me feel scared, angry, and paranoid to be in a similar situation because I'd be freaked out by those Nazi soldiers. It is somewhat hard to even imagine, however I can imagine the fact that they will yell at you for running as all adults do and the fact that she was very scared that she shivered.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers affected Annemarie by what they were asking Annemarie, Kirsti, and Ellen. They were laughing at them and holding rifles. The fact that they were armed with lethal weapons terrified the children .The way they talked to the children frightened them. Just by that talk with the Nazi, you can tell that they were very scared.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers on the way from school terrifies Annemarie because she knows that the Nazi soldiers can hurt her. If I was in the corresponding situation, I would try to stay calm and answer their questions as quickly as possible and try to avoid them for the rest of the day. It is very terrifying and hard to imagine myself in this situation.
The encounter of the Nazi soldiers on the way to school scares Annemarie because they make her feel uncomfurtable by asking her questions. If I was in this situation I would be terrified but try to stay calm so I could answer the questions quickly. Yes, I think it is hard to imagine being in this type of situation because the Nazi soldiers are powerful and it sounds very terrifying.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers affected Annemarie by making her scared of the soldiers. She was especially scared when the soldiers pointed their rifles at her backpack and asked if she was a good student or not, and even more terrified when her sister stood up to one of the soldiers when he stoked her hair. She had already lost one of her sisters, and she didn't want to lose another one, especially when she is at such a young age. If I was in that same situation, I would probably not even be able to speak to the soldiers. If I was standing in front of two people who could kill me if I said or did the wrong thing, I would be scared out of my pants! However, Annemarie was able to speak to them calmly without unintentionally insulting them. This shows true bravery. It is king of hard to imagine since it probably won't happen again, but if it does, you have to be aware of what you say and do because you never no what those soldiers will do to you, no matter who you are.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers affected Annemarie by making her very scared of the soldiers. However, Annemarie showed true bravery in answering all of the soldiers' questions calmly and without insulting them. It is kind of hard to imagine because it probably won't happen again, but if it does, you should be aware of what you say and do because you never know what some people will do to you, no matter who you are.
The encounter of the Nazi soldiers affects Annemarie beacause they always stop her and ask her questions. If I were to be in this situation,I would just quickly answer it and then go straight home without making any eye contact with any soldiers. I think that it is very hard to imagine being in this situation because those soldiers are very creepy and powerful.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers on the way home from school affect Annemarie by causing her to be terrified and cautious of the soldiers. Especially when Kristi had started badmouthing the soldiers, Annemarie was worried about what might become of her after that. If I were in a similar situation, I would be more than terrified, especially if soldiers were poking my bags with guns and asking me questions. I would be absolutely scared out of my wits! In my opinion, it would be quite hard to imagine because I have never been in a situation like that, so I would not know how it would actually feel like to be in that kind of situation.
The encounter with the Nazi soldiers affects Annemarie by making her afraid of the soldiers. She feels this emotion especially when the soldiers ask her questions about her backpack and school, and the soldiers are pointing their guns at her backpack. I would feel just like Annemarie, and I would do what she told herself, "Don't talk much. Just answer them that's all." However, it is hard to imagine myself in this situation because the Nazi soldiers would give me a little bit of a shiver. And if I did something to annoy them, the soldiers could report it to their commander.
The encounter with the Nazi soilders on the way to school affects Annemarie by making her and Ellen feel afraid. They poked her backpack and stroked little Kristi's hair.
