  1. Without feelings, life cannot be expressed. Feelings are ways to express your power in your thought and YOUR perspective. Life cannot be enjoyed without feelings because if you can't express yourself throughout your words or even your own FACE than everything will feel like you are in pain. Feelings can connect you with your friends and family. No feelings equals a blank world. An example of having no feelings is when you are being BULLIED. When someone says you are a LOSER or when they call you FAT, without feelings, you cannot tell them or show them (with your face, not your fist) that you are hurt or mad. Without feelings to express how you feel about the world, your friends or family, or even just a BULLY, the world will be full of no expression.

  2. Life without feelings can be dull. There will be no thought or opinion. There will be life that seems lifeless, because no one will have feelings to say what they think of others. Friends will never be friends because friends are people who care (caring is a feeling) for each other. Making choices will not be that easy. If you are playing a violin, you feel no urge to play a certain song. Overall, life without feelings is not very fun or interesting.

  3. Without feelings, life would not be worth living. Feelings are the reaction moods and emotional thoughts. You would not be able to express yourself, and would not even know what you are feeling. It is one thing if you cannot explian to others about your thoughts and feelings, but another if you cannot comprehend them yourself for your own knowledge. Feelings are what help make our world diverse and help separate humans from robots. Feelings help guide our actions. When you are feeling sad, the common reaction is to cry, when happy, you smile; feelings generate our actions and guide us through life. Without feelings, it doesn't seem possible that there would be life. If humans had no feelings, they wold be like robots. But, robots are programmed, humans are not. Without feelings, humans would not be able to do anything. This would reduce the population of humans and run them into the extinct catagory. Life would not be possible without feelings. However, if it were, there would be no way to communicate amongst each other. Every thought or feeling we have are what cause our actions. For example, when we feel hungry, we eat; when we feel lonely, we talk to others. But these thoughts and feelings do not only cause small actions. Adolf Hitler was angered by the Jews, and so he went out to destroy them. The U.S. was in pain in 2001, and so they sent its millitary to kill and destroy Osama bin Ladin. Martin Luther King, Jr. was upset with how African-Americans were treated and spoke against it, bringing change. Our actions are because of our feelings and without them, we would not exist.

  4. Without feelings, you would not be able to feel anything. No one would be able to experience the feelings of joy, calmness, or love. Everyone would be just like a common piece of machinery, not feeling anything, being the only one who cannot feel the refreshing feeling of happiness. Feelings help us to express ourselves. How would we feel if war was amongst us? How would we feel if a newborn was given life? Happy, sadness, anger; those feelings (and many more) help us to live our life. If we had no feelings, then the sentence, "Your father just died in the war" or "Your mother died giving birth" would have no meaning to you or anyone. You would respond, "Oh." , not feeling any rage to the person who had just taken your father's life, and not feeling any sadness to losing the only person who understood you in life. Without feelings, everything, and everyone, would be blank. Nothing would matter to you or anyone else.

  5. 25, I liked your answer. You clearly state what feelings are, and what the world would be without them. That is some good writing!
22 and 27, those are also well-written opinions on this matter. Good job to both of you.

  6. Thank you for the positive energy, 30! That encourages great discussion.

  7. If we didn't have feelings, well, there would be no feelings. There would probably be less arguing and disagreements because there would be no anger and feelings about things. We would also not enjoy much of life. There would be no smiling or frowning. Nothing to talk about really. How boring tight!? Feelings can really help to express many people. Without feelings, life would be a waste. What if someone said " Your grandmother just died" you would simply say nothing and do nothing. As you can see, without feelings, no life. Boring!

  8. Without feelings, life would be dull. Whenever something excited happens, you will NEVER feel anything and won't have anything to look forward to. When someone hurts you feelings, you would feel fine and just leave he person, saying noting. Without feelings, you won't be able to express yourself. Many people use feelings to express themselves in life. For example, when a bully bullies you, do you do nothing? You always say something back and tell them how you FEEL. This way, they stop. Without feelings, life would be nothing. YOU will be nothing, and there would be no such thing as happiness, sadness, or excitement going on. With no feelings, nothing good or bad would EVER happen to you. You won't even complain that you're bored when you feel like it, because you can't FEEL that you're bored. So, with no feelings, why live? Nothing cool would ever happen in your life, because that's what life is all about and how everything happens, by feelings you have.

  9. Without feelings, life would be blank, boring. Feelings express your inner self and inner thoughts. A smile means happiness, a frown means madness, and a tear means sadness. With a blank face, no one can tell if you are in pain, discomfort, happiness, sadness, the list goes on. Without feelings, there is no way to express anything. Your face and gestures are the ones that express; however, if you have no feelings, it is not likely for you to hold up a fist when you are mad, or dread dears when you are sad. You will not even be able to smile when you are feeling happy, or overjoyed. Feelings connect to your family because if you receive a gift, you will not be able to express your appreciation. If you give a gift, you will not be able to show that you feel great inside. This also probably connects to you (if you are a child). For example, if your older brother or sister took a precious item away from you, you would not be able to show that you are feeling hurt or angry. If they keep taking it away, you will not be able to express that you are feeling annoyed. Feelings are necessities in life if you want to have a way to express your inner thoughts and inner self.

  10. Without feelings, live would be nothing. Feelings express what we feel like. Feelings tell each other if we are happy, sad, angry or so on. Without such emotions, life would be gray instead of the colors of the rainbow. No one would know how other people are feeling and would be confused. Actually, they wouldn't be able to feel confusion! Life would be complicated. Life would be like a machine- like robots. Dialogue would always have the same tune and sound, again like a robot. Without feelings, nobody would be able to love, care for, be pitied or feel pity, nothing. Life without feelings could merely sound plain, but is the opposite. No feelings would be complicated. Who to marry to, what to eat, what to wear, what to do..... Nobody would feel these things. How dreadful life would be .However, there is a little upside to no feelings. There would be no war, no hatred, no fighting, and no unhappy feelings. Then again, what would life be without these emotions? Without feelings, life would not be worth living.

  11. 30, Thank you for your compliment; I also feel that your comment is very precise. Without feelings, as you stated, you would not feel anything and would have no reactions.
27, I did not understand what you meant by "There will be life that seems lifeless......".
22, I thought your comment was very true. It was beautifully written.

  12. Without feelings, life would be boring, you would be ammune to all aspects of bullying, you would feel no emotions what so ever. You would have no meaning to life, life would be dull and uninteresting, you would not be feeling emotion, hunger, or being hurt. The aspects of feeling are important and make us what we are today such as a dental higentist or an engineer. Without feeling, the wourld would be senceless to be in, happiness, sadness, and rage help us humans live our life. Machines and humans are compared to feelings such as love, joy, or compassion. The human race would be nothing without emotions or feelings.

  13. Without feelings, life would seem blank and dull. Everyone would be the same. Parents will not be the same because they will not so love or care. Babies will not cry if they are hurt or sad. No one could feel joy or happiness. Life would be meaning less without feelings.

  14. If life were to be without feelings, the world would be much different then it is today. Everyone would be like empty caskets because they do not feel happiness or anger. No one would fight or get mad, and no one would feel happy. Everyone would not have friends because they have no such feelings. If someone got hurt, they wouldn't feel sad and nobody would care. The world would be totally plain and everyone would not get along, but not hate each other either. Possibly, without emotions, we would not even be alive because of the lack of love, another emotion. Everyone would just go along with their own day, doing the most simplest things and not having a care in the world whether they were doing something that nobody would want to do if they DID have emotions. Basically, the world would be something all of us today would never know, and everybody there would not care or know what sadness, happiness, anger, or jealousy feels like, or even what it is.

  15. 30, I agree with you. Without feelings, the world would have nothing. It would be like black and white television. The world needs feelings or else nothing would be joyful. The world would be still and quiet.

  16. Think about this... Would you miss something that you never had or even that you never knew?

  17. 25, thank you for agreeig with me
21, yes, feelings are Needed. With a capital 'N'.
14, what do you mean by, "Boring, tight?!?" That does no make sense. Do you mean to say, "Boring, right?!?" Please reply so I can understand your opinion. Thank you.

  18. Without feelings, life would be... a great gray cloud. No real meaning, no real shape, no real changes or emotions. When people say something to you, you would probably just say "okay" and walk away. How creepy would that be? So if someone said you were a big fat monkey, you would just say okay and walk away. Without feelings, life would be good in some ways too. For examplle, if someone took something from you, you woldn't rebel and inflict violence on them until they gave you the item back. There would be no wars or violence, segregation or hatred. People would just be... robots. Have you seen a movie in which humans try to program feelings into a robot, but it has no feelings except the want to cause destruction? Well, humans would be like that too, except they wouldn't cause destruction.

  19. Mr. James Conway, I do not think I would miss something that I never had or even never knew of because I would have no memory of it if I never had it. That is a very interesting question. Thank you for asking that!
That raises one question though: Would you have any FEELING for something you never had or even that you knew of?

  20. For my previous response, I ment to say "agreeing". Not "agreeig".

  21. If there were no feelings in life, then it would be as if life never existed. Without feelings, life would be duller than dull. What would anyone have to talk about without feelings? Life would not be worth living if you had no feelings. If there was no feelings, there is no self-expression and you cannot be who you want to be; you will just be a blank robot. People would not know how to act if there were no feelings, because you cannot feel what the other person is feeling. For example, if you start bulling people you would not know when to stop, because there are no feelings. The world would over flood with chaos.

  22. 30 wrote, "Would you have any FEELING for something you never had or even that you knew of?" So never having feelings is easy for the people in Jonas's community.

  23. Without feelings, life would be dull and boring. Human expression gives life that fun feeling. Without feelings, you would not be able to show a bully how you feel inside. Sometimes, life is like television. Everyones feelings create the colors on the television. Without feelings, the television would be extremely boring, and life would not be full of surprises, just a bunch of people who do not have any kind of emotions or inner thoughts.

  24. Without feelings, the world would be the same every day. With feelings, we are different and that is alright. For example, when some people are happy, some other people may be sad and that is what makes us different. When Osama bin Ladin attacked us, we were frightened and sad. We cried in fear and in saddness. When Martin Luther Kinf, Jr. stood up against unfair rights, we were all inspired to assist him in his quest for equality. He was determined to have a better world where everyone had equal rights. When Hitler tried to eliminate the Jewish people, most people had strong feelings of hatred towards him due to his selfishness.

  25. Number 14, when you said: "How boring tight!?" Did you mean right instead of tight?
Number 13, I agree with your comment: "The human race would be nothing without emotions or feelings." That is so true.
Mr. Conway: Well, your question is very interesting. In the Community, no one knows what color is, so they do not care about how boring and dull everything is. They do not know what they are missing out on. So, for example, if we were in a world without feelings, we would not think of our life as dull and boring. Like Jonas experienced, adding unknown concepts and ideas to life would make it very strange. Humans living in a world without feelings would not realize how much they are missing. Feelings are necessary for human life to expand.

What 25 said above is right. Feelings are very important.

  26. Mr. Conway, for your first question that you asked: "Would you miss something that you never had or even that you never knew?" I would say that if I had no idea what it was or that it even existed, I would not miss it. If I never had the item but knew about it, I would not miss it; however, I most likely would be anticipated to get it.

  27. Number 31, I liked the phrase, "Everyone would be like empty caskets because they do not feel happiness or anger." That is very true. No one would feel anything at all. Your comment was well stated and written.
Number 05, did you mean "Martin Luther King, Jr." instead of "Martin Luther Kinf, Jr."?
Number 08, I liked your statement, "Without feelings, life would be duller than dull." But I have to disagree with you on the matter of chaos. You say that without feelings, there will be chaos, in your example, when bullying someone and not knowing when to stop. However, why would you start bullying someone in the first place? You would have to FEEL something to start that. If we lived in a world without feelings, we would not be able to do anything, in my opinion.

  28. 30, I do not think that I would have any feeling if I had no memory of it or knew it did not exist.

  29. Without feelings, life would be a place where no one can express their true feelings to each other. People would not know what to say about their feelings when the people see something that would make them express their emotions. People cannot experience life without any feelings in the world. Experiencing emotions in a world would help reflect the people's true feelings inside their heart. If I were in a world without feelings, I would not miss something that I never had or never knew about because I did not know what the true emotion of miss is. Missing something is one of many true feelings that people would not know in a world of no feelings.

  30. Without feelings, life would not be interesting. You will never feel happy, sad, mad, or anything you need that really fill life up. Life depends on feelings; if you never felt that you loved somebody, there will be no one to spend the rest of your life as you grow up, which will greatly effect you when you grow old. Having everything chosen for you is possibly good and bad. If you have something chosen for you as small as someone picking what ice cream you should eat, that will not affect you, but if you had you life, career, and family chosen for you, that could affect you greatly. You will not be able to express yourself and the way you feel. Without feelings, you will never know what it feels like to be happy, sad, or mad. Even though being mad could be bad sometimes, your feelings could make uplittle bits and pieces of your life, even if your feelings could be bad saometimes. Life will be boring without feelings. Feelings are what make up life and affect the path you choose in life. Without feelings, the Earth would be dull and humans would be lifeless. Humans have feelings that could be major, or very small, but feelings make up most of your life and future. Feelings are very important and I do beleive they are needed in this world.

  33. The world without feelings would be worthless and dull. People who are transparent, or do not express emotion, are unable to have a unique personality or entitlement to their own opinions. Debate, a famous "sport", allows students or even adults to speak their mind. Humans would never evolve without feelings and would sadly and most probably become extinct. If we did not have the feeling of hunger or desire, we would not scan the environment for food. Feelings promote emotional attachment and social interactions as well as growth and maturity. Without emotions, the life and motivation would be taken away from our species. We humans are not robotic or automatons, programmed to do a single action with no other choice. If we did not know when our body had enough, we would fall apart. We are human. "When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but creatures of emotion," as spoken by Dale Carnegie.

  34. Life without feelings would be dull and boring. Without feelings, people would be like robots; stiff and motionless without batteries. People are created by God with feelings. Adam was lonely and sad until Eve came, he became happy and content. People need interaction with other people and interaction means showing feeling and emotion with other people. If you feel sad, people around you will show sadness too.If you are happy and funny, people around you will laugh and make people smile.Either way, they will show feeling and emotion. Feelings are like salt end pepper of life. It gives flavor and taste just like food. So with no feelings, life would be uninteresting.

  35. Life without feelings can have both a negative outcome or a positive outcome. With out feelings life can turn out to be plain dull. As a result, there would be no reasons for you do things. Traits like determination would not exist. On the other hand, life without aspects like anger can end pointless wars and fights. Injuries can be avoided from unnecessary arguments. Our would might even be a better place without feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Life without feelings can be pretty boring. No one would feel anything when they are hurt emotionally or physically. If people couldn't feel anything, then they would be inhuman, but people aren't. People have to have feelings or it just won't make them normal. Without feelings, people will have no emotions whatsoever.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Without feelings, life would be a bore. No excitement of maybe getting a new puppy. No sadness when a relative dies. Without feelings, there would be no hurting or bulling. Feelings can be both negative and positive.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If the world had no feelings then life wouldn't mean anything. Life wouldn't be interesting without feelings. Feelings show the personality of people and their feelings. Without feelings we can not know how people are feeling. Without feelings there will be no coler in life. If we had no feelings , i don't know what we will do!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. If life had no feelings, it means that has no meaning in it. A life without feelings is like a world without color. A world of no color has no meaning. Although people can still feel pain, happiness, sadness, and other light emotions, people cannot feel true pain, suffering, and other emotions. In other words, life without feelings is boring.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Without feelings, life will be plain. One could not express what he or she is feeling such as pain or sadness. We would probaly be like robots if we didn't have feelings, and people cannot smile or show happiness. In fact if people didn't show feelings none of us would exist because no new people will be born. Feeling allows us to experience life and emotions. Without feelings, we will not be human.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Life without feelings can seem like you do not exist at all. No one would be happy, sad, and mad. People would not cry if they are getting bulling, hurt, and hit you. People would not be mad when they do something to you. Children would be sad when they do not get their favorite toy.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Without any feelings, life would be plain and simple. Nothing out of emotion would be achieved. For example, Marie Curie had many scientific breakthroughs because of her love for science. If people do not experience emotion, then nothing very significant can be achieved since nobody with emotional motivation would be around to achieve it. Good things, though, can come from people without emotion. There would be no violence, war, depression, hurting others emotionally intentionally, hatred, suicide, intentional pain, or premature deaths. Most people should live long without these factors. However, many people will never experience feelings such as joy or happiness. Every day will be the same day, as nothing will ever really happen. If something did occur, people would probably not go to the event since they will not look forward to it nor would they hate it. Life would not be enjoyable. I am not even sure if life would be worth living. People might not even get to survive because if they do not want to eat or not to eat, will they even eat? How can people survive and thrive without eating. People would probably die out in the first generation of their kind. Nothing would be exciting or fun, nor anyone would get thrilled or scared. Life would be a neutral place, just like the Vulcans and their society on the planet Vulcan (Star Trek). Except the Vulcans are able to excel in technology and life since they do have feelings, but discipline themselves not to and to hide them away. Life would be boring and dull, nothing and empty. People will not be able to express themselves because of lack of feelings. A big part of peoples' personalities would be diminished, and expressing your feelings would not be even possible. Everything would advance slowly, if not at all. I definitely would not want to live in a world without emotion.

    ReplyDelete
  43. If the world had no feelings, the world would be very boring. If you had hurt someone in a way, the person would not feel anything. Also, you may not know if you had hurt the person or not, since the person showed no emotion and feeling. Life would be not worth living. All of the colors on the buildings could most likely be white. Some people might even sit in the corner, all hands and legs folded. I once had a no feeling moment. I had this moment when I was taking a shower. I turned on the water on full hot, and I went into the water to see if the water was hot. The water was on full hot temperature, but some how all I was feeling was cold water. My skin did not sense any heat temperature any watsoever.

  44. Without feeling in the world humanity and emotions would be dull and human's would be like machines: nothing without emotions. Happiness, joy, and other aspects of emotions some of to the joy in life. We, the humans would be ammune to many things such as "Im sorry your mother died during the war between our communities".Without feelings there would be no interest in life, no happiness. These aspects make us what we are today, humans of independent lives.
