I hope you have found the time to finish reading The Giver by Lois Lowry. If you have not finished reading the book, please stop whatever you were doing, find your book, and finish reading.

If you have completed the book, please write a response to the following questions before Wednesday. Your responses should be your own thoughts and at least five sentences in length.

My first question is, what do you think is the overall theme of this book? What were some of the messages that the author was trying to give her readers? Find evidence in the story to support your opinions.

My second question is, what do you think happened to Jonas and Gabriel at the end of the story? Find evidence in the story that will support your opinion.
